Installing IsoStar Server Software

Note: if you have already installed the IsoStar software then please read this anyway since it may contain information relevant to your installation

The IsoStar server software is currently available for Linux machines only

The IsoStar server software must be installed in a directory from which you can directly access the CSD database files.

It is possible that you have already installed the software on one machine. You may, however, need to install it on other machines depending on their platform type and position on your network.

Additional installations will be necessary if:

To install the IsoStar software you must run IsoInstall from the Linux Software DVD.

Machine Types

The DVD-ROM contains executables for Linux only - other UNIX operating systems are no longer supported. The IsoStar client is available on Linux, Windows & Mac OSX platforms and is installed via the CSDS Software installer.

Please see the CSDS Release & Installation Notes for full details on supported platforms for IsoStar.

Installing on a Network

You need only install the software once in a common directory provided that all machines from which IsoStar will be run can directly access this directory (i.e., the filesystem you choose is networked to all machines).

If some machines can not directly access the directory that you choose then you must make separate installations for these machines.
